La pasada temporada, el Teatro Real presentó la icónica versión de Helgi Tomasson de El lago de los cisnes, a cargo del Ballet de San Francisco. En 2025-2026, llegará al escenario del Real una no menos icónica versión radical del clásico de Chaikovski. Pocas obras han desafiado las normas del ballet clásico con la audacia de Matthew Bourne en El lago de los cisnes. Al representar a los cisnes con un cuerpo masculino de ballet con el torso desnudo, no solo subvirtió uno de los iconos del ballet blanc, sino que reescribió el mito clásico en clave de deseo y liberación. Con su compañía de danza New Adventures, Bourne actualiza este clásico contemporáneo para conectar con una nueva generación de bailarines y público.
